People Who Changed America

5^th Grade Project

Follow the steps below to create a PowerPoint presentation about an American who changed our country.  Remember to carefully read the text on websites and state your information in your own words!  Please review the project rubrics by clicking here.

• Choose a person from “100 People Who Changed America” by Scholastic.

• Use Kidspiration to create an idea web that includes the topics you see on the template.   Please open the Kidspiration template in the KirbyShare drive in the student folder, 5^th grade folder. 

• Show your Kidspiration idea web to a teacher, who will give you permission to SAVE and print it. 

• Create a PowerPoint presentation including text and graphics.  You may search  for appropriate graphics on the "classroom clipart" Internet sites.  Remember to save your work.

• Add screen transitions, custom animation and sounds if appropriate. Remember to save your work.

• Extra Credit:  Use Microsoft Publisher to create a magazine cover featuring your American.  Remember to save your work and ask for permission to print.
